Port Lincoln was one of the loading points for australian grain, distributed along the
Spencer Gulf, at the end of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.

Port Lincoln hosts the Axel Stenross maritime museum, a finnish seaman from the Olivebank who settled there.
The Pamir put there in 1932, 1934/35 and 1937.
